Equality, Diversity & Inclusion when Supporting Autism Level 2 Course

Our Level 2 Equality, Diversity and Inclusion when Supporting Autism course will help you learn how autism affects people and the best approaches for providing support for individuals with autism. This is a funded online course.

Accredited by NCFE, the Level 2 Equality, Diversity and Inclusion when Supporting Autism is a valuable qualification for providing support to individuals with autism in sectors such as health and social care, education and entertainment. You will understand the impacts and effects of equality and diversity and how to apply your knowledge to support individuals.

After completing this course, you’ll receive a ‘Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism’ and ‘Level 2 Certificate in Equality and Diversity‘ to add to your CV!

This course combines two Level 2 qualifications. You will study the following modules for each qualification and receive two qualification certificates upon completion of this course.

Level 2 Certificate in Equality and Diversity Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism
  • Equality and diversity in society.
  • Introduction to autism.
  • The impact of stereotyping and labelling
  • Using a person-centred approach to support individuals with autism.
  • Taking individual responsibility and action to help and support others.
  • Communication and social interaction in individuals with autism.
  • The effects of prejudice and discrimination.
  • Sensory processing, perception and cognition in individuals with autism.
  • Examine rights and responsibilities.
  • Supporting positive behaviour in individuals with autism.
  • Supporting individuals with autism to live healthy and fulfilled lives.

 

On average, this course takes 12 weeks to complete. However, the duration will vary depending on speed of learning and current ability.

GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English. If you do not hold this qualification you will be asked to complete an English diagnostic assessment during the application process.
