Learners will get to grips with Unreal Engine UI and controls to get to grips with the basics in readiness to build build build! We’ll show you how to sculp terrain, add foilage and a colour palette to enhance the game interaction.
Learn the fundamentals of game design from idea generation through to learning about player engagement (UI). We’ll show you how to create a main menu and the options within to ensure your game runs smoothly.
Extending your knowledge of game design principles, we’ll take you through how to share your game ideas with others by creating a game design document – it’ll support you in covering every aspect of the game’s design and become the blueprint of design to share with your fellow workers.
Here you’ll learn all about ‘sound’, within the context of game design and multimedia production. You’ll learn how to use and purpose free, open source sounds but also create your own unique effects and sound for your own game to make it really unique.
Let us help you in really getting to grips with the world of the gaming industry and it’s related roles, from game designers to QA testers and from producers to artists. We’ll help you explore these roles and create an effective and unique CV and online portfolio to showcase your own skills and abilities.
Learn to use Blender and it’s many functions and abilities to make your game your own. We’ll show you how to create, model and texture artifacts and characters ready for inclusion within your own game.
Learn the art of storytelling in our module on narrative design. Discover how to craft engaging narratives and understand the key components of a compelling story that will capture players’ attention and enhance the overall game experience. Bring everything together by joining a ‘game jam’ – collaborate with others in a working group to create a game from a brief, and share it with players to gather valuable feedback.
