Entry Requirements
- Level 2 courses are available to people aged 19 or over, which means you'll qualify if you were born on or before 31 August 2005.

- You must be unemployed or earning less than £25,000 per year, whether employed or self-employed.
What you'll be studying
1. Understanding schools and colleges as organisations
This unit aims to prepare the learner for working in a school or college. It covers knowledge and understanding of the school and college organisational structure and function.
2. Understanding children and young people’s development
The aim of this unit is to explore holistic development. The unit will also consider effects on development and the role of the support worker to support the child and young person when concerns are raised about an individual’s development.
3. Understanding communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults
This unit provides the knowledge and understanding that underpins effective communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults.
4. Understanding children and young people’s health and safety
The aim of this unit is to raise an awareness of health and safety through knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures in a learning environment.
5. Safeguarding children and young people
This unit provides the knowledge and understanding required for safeguarding children and young people.
6. Understanding equality, diversity and Inclusion in work with children and young people
The aim of this unit is to explore equality, diversity and inclusion. The unit will consider legislation, policy and procedure in schools and colleges to protect children and young people in a learning environment from the effects of discrimination.
7. Principles of providing administrative services
Understand the key responsibilities in providing administrative support, including organisational and time management techniques.
8. Principles of business document production and information management
Learn how to produce, manage, and archive business documents in compliance with organisational policies.
9. Understand communication in a business environment
Develop practical communication skills to foster positive interactions with colleagues and clients.

Explore the structure and function of different organisations and their economic roles.
