3 simple steps to start your new career in construction
Step 1 – One-to-one Careers Advice
You’ll have a one-to-one meeting with one of our Careers Advisers.
Your Careers Adviser will create a personal learning plan, usually lasting 5 days. It will detail your course information, tests, dates and the qualifications you’ll achieve.
Your construction course will include Level 1 Health & Safety in a Construction Environment Test and the CITB Green Card Health & Safety Test. This is all part of our exclusive personalised “Construct your career” training programme.
Step 2 – Personalised Training Plan
With training starting every week, you can begin your course as soon as you’re ready. Our friendly and experienced tutors will help you complete your course as quickly as possible and coach you for the Level 1 Health & Safety and CITB Green Card tests.
To get a Green card you need to take 2 tests:
- a) The Level 1 Health & Safety test at our learning centre.
- b) The CITB Green Card test at the local “Pearson’s” test centre.
We pay for and book BOTH tests for you.
Step 3 – Prepare your CV and apply for jobs.
On your last day with us you’ll take the Level 1 Health & Safety test in our learning centre which we will have trained you to pass. Our tutors will then book and pay for your CITB Green Card test. Once you’ve taken and passed that test, your CSCS Green Card will be posted to your home address.
Our tutors will help you create or improve your CV, find jobs online and apply for them. We’ll even help you prepare for interviews.
We help people get back into work
After completing Level 1 and Level 2 in IT, Helen also used her time at Think Employment to complete vocational qualifications in Business Administration and Customer Service to further boost her CV and improve her all-round job prospects.
After more than 15 years working for a bank, Kerry was made redundant earlier this year and came to us to improve her knowledge of IT. In less than 4 weeks, Kerry achieved four new qualifications to add to her CV before finding a job she really wanted. But to top it all off, she was also elected as a local councillor in the May elections.
For me, this wasn’t just about getting the skills needed to help me find work. It was about everyday skills as well because just existing without IT skills is difficult . . . It’s friendly, relaxed and you’re ultimately in control of your own outcome, but the help is there if you want it. You couldn’t ask for anymore from a training provider - it’s pitched just right.
