Grimsby, do you want to upskill this February?

This February, we are running a variety of courses and workshops to help boost your CV and your chances of finding work.

Whether you are looking for sector-specific qualifications or you want to brush up on your functional skills we have plenty of courses available.

We will be offering functional skills (Maths, English and IT) and pre-employment training, in the form of one-week workshops in the following;

Care

Starting Monday 4th February, we will run a one-week Care workshop aimed at people who want to pursue a career in the sector.

The workshop gives learners the opportunity to gain valuable qualifications covering various aspects of the industry. It includes understanding the values and responsibilities of a social care worker, the different job roles available in care, and the different communication skills needed in the sector.

This workshop also includes a DBS certificate, which is a requirement for anyone who wants to work in Care.

A DBS check is a record of a person’s criminal convictions and cautions carried out by the Disclosure and Barring Service. It’s an essential requirement for those applying to work with children or vulnerable adults.

The course will be delivered over one week running between 9:30 am – 3:30 pm every day and is made up of the following:

  • Level 1 in Preparing to work in Adult Social Care
  • Standard DBS Check

Hospitality

Starting Monday 18th February, we will be running a one-week Hospitality workshop.

Our training package is designed to cover the basics and kick-start a person’s career in hospitality and catering.

Employment in hospitality is all about exploring the industry and its career opportunities. You will learn what good customer service in hospitality is, including the benefits to the company.
It will teach you the basics of serving food and drinks to customers and working as part of a food and drink team.

The Basic Food Hygiene certificate will give you an extra advantage when applying for roles in the sector.

Food safety law requires businesses to provide food handlers with food hygiene training, which teaches them how to apply proper handling, storage, and cleaning techniques.

The course will be delivered over one week running between 9:30 am – 3:30 pm every day and is made up of the following:

  • Level 1 Award in Introduction to Employment in Hospitality
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
