Think Employment will be delivering a pre-employment training course that includes the Basic Barista qualification on Monday 11th February.
We have partnered with 200 Degrees Coffee, one of the city’s leading independent coffee houses, to offer the unique qualification that will boost people’s chances of finding work in the Hospitality sector.
“There’s been a rise in the amount of hospitality jobs that require barista skills in the last couple of years,” explained Andrew Massow, Think Employment’s Corporate Partnership Manager.
“Gone are the days when just artisan cafes had a trained barista – now there’s calling for people with those skills to work in pubs, restaurants and also hotels!
“It’s fast becoming a skill that Hospitality employers are expecting to see in candidates. Perhaps there’s never been a better time to know how to make a decent latte?”
Hospitality is one of the largest sectors in the UK for jobs, with more than 2.3 million estimated to work in the industry. While in Leeds alone, more than 26,000 jobs were advertised in Hospitality last year. Think Employment have decided to offer this training to improve the skill set of the people who want to work in this popular industry.
Once people complete the Hospitality workshop and Barista training, we will also offer CV support from their in-house recruitment specialists and then put people forward for employment opportunities with local businesses.
The training package is free and it takes place at their St David’s Court learning centre – just a few minutes stroll from train station and city centre.
