Returnee learner James Hayes enjoyed improving his customer service skills while at Think Employment.
The free training package provides learners with the opportunity to gain important skills and nationally-recognised qualifications required to work in sectors such as retail, hospitality and other customer-facing roles.
James, who is recovering from surgery, wanted to complete some further learning whilst he had the time. He chose to enrol on our training to help boost his job prospects in the sector.
James said, “The main incentive for doing the workshop was to gain some customer service skills as they are transferable in a variety of jobs, which hopefully means more opportunities for me”.
James came to Think Employment back in May 2019 to complete his Entry Level 3 in IT, by June he had completed a second qualification and gained his Level 1 in IT. He said, “I have been at Think Employment before, it’s a really good place to come and you are constantly learning something all the time”.
Despite only being halfway through the course, he’s already learning valuable skills. James said, “I’m not very tech-savvy, I don’t know much about social media, so it’s been interesting learning about the different media platforms like Linkedin”.
James has worked as a support worker in the past and has previously volunteered at the Fortitude Club, a club specialised for visually impaired adults.
He’s hoping the skills he learns with us now will help him get one step closer into work!
