The Kickstart Scheme for Employers
Recruit a young person (aged 16-24) for 6 months and the Government will cover 100% of their wages (national minimum wage).
The government will give you an additional grant for every young person you take on as part of the Kickstart Scheme.
Support Young People
You’ll be helping young people to gain valuable experience and skills which can boost their employability and reduce reliance on Universal Credit.
Let’s get started..
What is the Government Kickstart Scheme?
During the coronavirus pandemic, the number of 16-24 year olds in employment has fallen by 284,000. The Kickstart Scheme aims to combat this, by asking employers to create 6-month work placements for young people and provide them with the valuable experience and skills they may need to secure future employment. As a thank you, the Government will cover the wages of each young person (national minimum wage) plus the assosiated employer contributions. The government also provides an additonal grant for every young person, taken on by an organisation, to help with additional overhead and start-up costs.
There are very real benefits to the Kickstart Scheme and it is allowing many business owners to maximise income and find their feet, following the national lockdown and economy crash.
