On Monday 11th March we are running a one-week Hospitality workshop that will include a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
Our Hospitality training is aimed at people who have little or no experience in the sector as all learners will receive two work-related qualifications in only one week.
Job Prospects in Hull
Hospitality is a growing industry and is currently the fourth largest employer in the UK, it is believed that a job is advertised within the sector every 2.5 seconds. In Hull last year, 5,780 jobs were advertised in the Hospitality sector alone.
The sector has a variety of entry-level jobs for those wanting to work in Housekeeping, Bartending, Event Management, Travel and Tourism and Hotel roles.
What can you expect from our training?
Our training package is designed to cover the basics and kick-start a person’s career in hospitality and catering. All our pre-employment training lasts for one week, to give you a fast track route into employment with qualifications to improve your CV.
In addition to these qualifications, you will receive support with job applications, updating your CV and interview coaching during your time with us.
The qualifications taught in our training are:
Level 1 Award in Introduction to Employment in Hospitality
Employment in hospitality is all about exploring the industry and its career opportunities. You will learn what good customer service in hospitality is, including the benefits to the company. It will teach you the basics of serving food and drinks to customers and working as part of a food and drink team.
Level 1 in Equality and Diversity
This qualification looks at British Values and helps people understand the differences between equality and diversity. Learners will explore stereotypes, discrimination and prejudice and be able to identify the bodies who work on these equality issues.
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Food safety law requires businesses to provide food handlers with food hygiene training, which teaches them how to apply proper handling, storage, and cleaning techniques. These good practices prevent customers from suffering food poisoning and allergic reactions, help minimise food waste, and boost workplace efficiency.
Who can do our training?
To apply for this course you need to be over 19 and have lived in the UK or EU for the last three consecutive years (since April 2015).
You either need to be unemployed looking for work and on benefit, or be employment earning less than £15,760. Eligibility will be determined at our Information Advice and Guidance appointment.
