We are running a free Warehouse workshop starting on 11th February from our learning centre in Wolverhampton. The 5 day course is great for those wanting to get into the Warehousing industry.
The Warehousing industry currently employs more than 2.5 million people throughout the UK and it is a growing sector for entry level jobs. Therefore, it is an ideal sector for those who have been out of work for a while or are looking to start a new career path.
The modules that will be covered throughout the 5 day course are designed to give you all of the knowledge and practical skills that general warehousing employees will need. These include:
- Understanding the Warehousing Industry
- Manual Handling
- Health and Safety
- Common Warehousing Equipment
- Problem Solving and Team Working
- Equality and Diversity in the workplace
A mix of practical and theory modules will prepare you for the different types of tasks you might be doing when working in warehousing.

There has been a 2.9% job growth in Wolverhampton since last year. Plus, the average wage for a position in the sector is around £22,500 per year.
Top roles associated with the sector are positions like Picker/Packers, Fillers, Forklift Truck Drivers and Large Goods Vehicle Drivers. There are also opportunities to move up to managerial positions after you become more established within your field of work.

As part of our 360 degree service, you’ll get the chance to meet with our specialist recruitment team, have your CV reviewed and potentially be put forward for interviews with local employers.
Training will start on 4th February and will run Monday to Friday 9:30am-4:00pm. You’ll need to attend for the full week at our learning centre in Wolverhampton.
To be eligible for this course, you must be over the age of 19 and have lived in the UK or EU for at least 3 years. You must also either be in receipt of a benefit or earning less than £15,700 per year.
English, Maths and IT.
After completing your warehousing qualification, you could also boost your English, Maths or IT skills with us.
We offer Functional Skills throughout the year to those wanting to improve their qualifications. These courses are ideal if you need to improve your qualifications to get into university or simply want a refresher to update your CV.
English courses cover essential skills such and spelling, punctuation and grammar and our Maths courses cover up to Level 2 skills. Working with our experienced tutors, we’ll tailor your learning programme to you and your needs so you can take the next step towards your goals.
The IT courses are designed to give skills and knowledge within a number of areas like how to use the internet, Microsoft Office programmes and IT skills for use within the workplace.
Anyone who is over the age of 19 and have lived in the UK or EU for more than 3 years can take part in the English and Maths courses. To be eligible for the IT course, you must also either be in receipt of a benefit or on a low income wage.
