Start the Journey to Becoming a
Our Level 2 Early Years Teaching Assistant online course will help you prepare for school job roles such as; Classroom Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Early Years Practitioner and Learning Support Assistant in a primary school setting.
This is a combined course with modules from our Level 2 Childcare course and Level 2 Safeguarding course. We’ve chosen the course combination and units to help improve your chances of getting a job at a primary school, nursery, play centre and other settings working with children.

You’ll receive two qualifications when you complete the course, a Level 2 Certificate in Introducing Caring for Children and Young People and a Level 2 Certificate in Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values.
This course is a knowledge-only qualification and does not require you to complete a placement.

What’s the average salary for an Early Years Teaching Assistant?
The starting salary for Level 1 Teaching Assistants is usually £17,842 in line with the local government pay scale. Level 2 Teaching Assistants can expect to earn between £18,000 to £20,000. Level 3 Teaching Assistants can earn up to £25,000 if they have additional specialisms or SEN responsibilities.
Do I need a placement for this course?
Our Early Years Teaching Assistant course is a knowledge-only qualification and does not require you to complete a placement or attend our learning centres as all coursework is carried out online on our easy to navigate portal.
